Alex studied architecture at Oxford Brookes University and London Southbank University. Graduating in 2000 he worked for a number of years in North and East London, gaining valuable experience in the commercial and retail sectors. He then moved to a medium sized practice in Farringdon, where (as an Associate and Technical manager) he was primarily involved in the design and running of small private residential jobs, with further involvement in a number of luxury hotel developments.
In 2011 Alex set up as self-employed, directing his energy towards smaller-scale residential projects, which is the type of work he is particularly excited about.
He now lives in his home-town of Frome with his wife and two daughters and works on projects in the South West and in London.
Alex has a keen interest in residential design in general, architectural detailing and materials. With experience of designing in a range styles, depending on the specific context of a project (although tending more towards contemporary design) he employs a thorough, logical and technical approach to the design process, whilst always considering the specific requirements as defined by the needs and wishes of the building’s end users.
As well as architecture, Alex has a passion for music, motorsport, swimming in very cold water and the Universe.
