The planning application is for seven new apartments on the roof of Bridge View Court. There will be two x 3 bed, three x 2 bed and 1 x 1 bed apartments. They will be single storey and set well back from the building edge. Access to the new floor will be via a new dedicated lift with fire escape access being through the existing three stair cases.

We have undertaken extensive pre-application negotiations with the London Borough of Southwark’s planning department to ensure our submission meets local and national planning policy.

Extra cycle and bin storage is to be provided on the ground floor so no impact will be felt on the existing provision.

The new flats have been designed to be subtle and elegant and with little impact on the existing building or the surrounding area. Planning policy supports such rooftop development in sustainable locations such as this.

You will be formally notified when the application has been submitted and this page is to give you an advanced view of what our intentions are.

If approved, the new apartments will be constructed to modern building regulations which will see a completely separate structural frame being placed on the existing roof so that they will be separate from the existing roof so noise transmission will be negligible.

There will be wider benefits to the building such as reduced aggregate service charges if the apartments are built. We don’t expect planning to be approved for some months and if approved construction won’t begin in 2024 and we would in any case keep you informed as to progress.
