Joaquim Rocha

Associate Architect

Joaquim qualified as an Architect in Portugal, his native country, in 2004,  where he began his career in a small practice.

Before he arrived in the UK in 2012, he spent 3 years in Madrid, Spain where he developed his skills in real estate analysis and construction programming. At same time he continued to freelance with various architectural projects in Portugal.

In the UK he worked in a small architectural practice specialising in residential buildings before entering the world of structural engineering. Whilst at Ramboll he participated in larger scale international projects which developed his structural engineering and BIM knowledge.

He worked for Cooley Architects for 5 years, initially being recruited to work on the design coordination of a Data Centre in Germany. After this he managed architectural packages for planning and tender and in October 2021 was promoted to Associate Architect.

In May 2023 he was recruited by Northlight Architects as an Associate Architect and is responsible for managing the design of projects at planning stage.

He enjoys traveling, spending time with his friends and listening to a good bossa nova album. However, what he enjoys the most is spending time with his wife and baby daughter.
